HOCKEY PEI HAS CHOSEN TO RESCIND THIS PILOT PROJECT

U18 REC UPDATE
PILOT PROJECT
To self-tier in U18 Rec for this 26/27 season. This does not apply to U18 Rec Female.

TEAM PLACEMENT
As per Hockey PEI decision, teams will self-declare competition level of Tier 1 or Tier 2. Associations determine placement. Hosting two teams for example does not mean one is Tier 1 and one is Tier 2. Associations assess player skill, team formation and declare appropriate tier based on self-evaluation. Associations will make those determinations based on the evaluated skill level of players and team formation.

ASSESSMENTS
Plan is to have two icetimes this weekend. Board members/assessors not associated with the team will assess players to determine placement on teams, if there will be a Tier 1, Tier 2 or any other combination.

COACHING STAFF
Coaching staff will then be determined once teams are established.

SELECTION PROCESS
Will not be following the Titans draft policy for this selection process.

LEAGUE PLAY
Teams play first half league schedule until December – East/West Tier 1 and Tier 2 schedule will be created.

REVIEW & ADJUSTMENTS
Review of standings and team positioning will take place at the conclusion of the first half schedule. Any necessary sorting of teams in each tier level will be determined by Minor Council review and decision.

If adjustments are required, standings will reset and teams will begin play of a second half schedule in East/West Tier 1 and Tier 2.
